The heart of this deck is the combo of Grotesque Statue with Scavenging. The Statue is discarded the moment that the last charge on it is used, allowing you to pick it back up with Scavenging and play it again fully charged, even on the test that you used the last charge on. Once you have both pieces out, you can start using the statue on every single test.

You also have the ability to commit Jim's Trumpet to an early test before you've been dealt horror, and then pick it back up again later when needed.

Edit: The original version of the deck used .41 Derringer instead of Machete but as I played with it more I realized I wanted a weapon that could more reliably deal 2 damage with each attack.
