"Skids" O'Toole: Rogue An investigator who can competently pick up clues and fight enemies, though relies a little more on economy and shenanigans.

Combat:

  • Vicious Blow, Machete and .45 Automatic will allow you additional damage.
  • Spend your money to improve your combat stats with Physical Training.
  • If you need one more attack to defeat an enemy, you can use Skid's ability to buy an action for 2 resources (once per turn) or commit Quick Thinking to the test and succeed (or both!).
  • Cheap Shot allows you to bug out of combat if needed while also dealing 1 damage to the enemy.
  • Save ammunition with sleight of hand, equip a gun for free, use the rest of your actions shooting and tuck it back into your pocket at the end of the turn.

Investigation:

  • This deck can give additional actions at critical points when needed, this extra time can cover a lot of ground.
  • Leo De Luca grants you an additional action all the time and comes with a little bit of damage and horror soak.
  • Skids can buy an action once per turn for 2 resources.
  • Committing Quick Thinking to a skill test will give you an additional action as soon as the test is over (meaning you can get an action during someone else's turn if you committed it to their test).
  • All three of these actions can be gained at once, a dream scenario of 6 actions.
  • The Sleight of hand trick also applies to your Flashlight, put it onto the table for free, use two to three charges then put it back in your pocket at the end of the turn.
  • Burglary and Emergency Cache give you money when you need it, whereas Investments builds up each turn to when you want to use it and Lone Wolf will give you money if your turn begins and you are on your own. -"Watch This" can also be used to gamble money on a skill test, doubling it if you succeed.

Weakness:

  • Skid's Hospital bills can be a pain in a campaign as earning 2 fewer exp is a large chunk. that said, moving the money across doesn't use an action and it requires 3 turns of payments before it isn't an issue (3 turns of 2 payments).

  • All in all the hit in your resources is annoying but you can work on it over time and pay more when needed.
