Description
Heavy support build for a four player campaign.
Designed to run cheap with a lot of card draw. Cunning Distraction is there mostly because it has good skill icons () and Resourceful can get it back out of the trash. That it has an awesome effect (if you can afford it) is just bonus.
Upgrade Path
- Higher Education (3 XP): using resources for your own tests, means more support for others.
- Pathfinder (1 x 2 XP): free movement, so good. To replace Perception, I guess?
- Upgrade to Strange Solution (Acidic Ichor) (4 x 2 XP): powerful combat for a seeker.
- Deduction (2 x 2 XP): faster clearing of clues, especially combined with a big bonus from Higher Education.
- Lucky! (2 x 2 XP): more card draw.
- Stroke of Luck (2 x 2 XP): At this point, running out of things to spend XP on. Not sure what cards these would replace?
- Magnifying Glass (1 x 1 XP): ... why not?
Total XP cost: 27

I do want to start playing on harder difficulty. In normal, and with Wendy, I didn't get much use out of the Lucky Rabbit's Foot but I know that dynamic shifts on hard. But it worth getting or better to spend those cards slots on a better chance to not fail? |
Oct 16, 2017It's not really practical in terms of cards or resources to get all your checks to minimal chance to fail. Failure will definitely be a familiar thing on hard, cards like Rabbit's Foot and "Look what I found!" are great for reducing the impact of those failures. |
Oct 16, 2017I'll probably upgrade one of the Magnifying Glasses early, easy enough to find a single XP. That way, if I have both out, I can pop one back into my hand before drawing a card in upkeep, just in case I draw the The King in Yellow. |
Cryptic Research would be amazing in this build as it's zero resource and action cost to pick up a load of cards for throwing into skill checks.
If you are playing hard or expert difficulty then Rabbit's Foot is also good to get something back from all the failures.
