Ready to complete any campaign in true solo with only 24 Victory Points?
Investigate: 9 | Fight: 8 | Treachery: 9 | Tempo: 10 | Consistency: 10
I have played this deck in all official campaigns released until 2024, including TFA, TCU, EotE, TSK and Feast of Hemlock Vale. The original inspiration came from this deck from jamjams32, after playing many campaigns I'm quite confident that it is even more balanced with the new cards released. You will gain the ultimate tempo and adaptability to investigate, fight and pass treachery and agility tests.
This deck has one taboo card: Scavenging (0).
OVERVIEW / TL:DR
- Get two copies of Ice Pick (1) and At a Crossroads (1) before the first scenario thanks to the 3xp given by purchasing In the Thick of It
- Mulligan: keep Leo De Luca (0) and Scrounge for Supplies because they will give you an extra action for the whole scenario. Keep Ice Pick (1) for the +1 while fighting or investigating
- Play Leo De Luca (0) as early as possible, leveraging your mulligan and Scrounge for Supplies to search among the 10 cards discarded by Short Supply
- Play Ice Pick (1) leveraging Resourceful
- Play Faustian Bargain, Take Heart and Lone Wolf when you need resources to play assets.
TEMPO
You will have incredible tempo and action compression with:
- Duke's ability to move and investigate in one action
- Leo De Luca (0) played in turn one with great consistency thanks to the mulligan and Scrounge for Supplies interaction with the 10 cards discarded by Short Supply
INVESTIGATE
You will investigate successfully with:
- Investigate at 6 : 4 base value with Duke's ability to move and investigate from turn one, +1 Ice Pick (1), +1 Ice Pick (1)
- Investigate at 8 : add +2 with Perception
- Investigate at 10 : add +4 with Desperate Search
FIGHT
You will fight successfully with:
- Fight at 6 , 4 base value with Duke's ability to do 2 damage from turn one, +1 Ice Pick (1), +1 Ice Pick (1). Do 3 or 4 damage with Long Shot
- Fight at 8 : add +2 with Wolf Mask
- Fight at 10 : add +2 with Overpower
- Fight at 12 : add +4 with Reckless Assault
TREACHERIES AND AGILITY
You will pass treachery tests successfully with:
- Willpower at 6 : 4 base value, +2 with Unexpected Courage
- Agility at 7 : 3 base value, +2 with Wolf Mask, +2 with Unexpected Courage
- Add +4 with Desperate Search, Reckless Assault, Run For Your Life that can be used from turn one thanks to In the Thick of It
- Lucky! (0) gives you +2 in any test, it can be drawn from the discard pile with Resourceful.
UPGRADES
With few upgrades your consistency will increase even further.
- Scavenging (0) to search for Ice Pick (1) and Wolf Mask among the 10 cards discarded by Short Supply. It costs 2 experience in the latest taboo
- Plucky (3) for the +1 and +1 , spend resources gained with Lone Wolf
- Ice Pick (3) for the +1 damage or +1 clue when you discard, it can be drawn from the discard pile with Resourceful and Scavenging (0). You can kill an elite enemy with 6 health in one turn thanks to Duke, Long Shot and Ice Pick (3)
- Granny Orne (3) for the +1 and +1 , she gives you +1 in any test, she will ready every round so that you can focus Ashcan Pete's ability to ready Duke and investigate or fight
Priorities
- 1x Unexpected Courage --> 1x At a Crossroads (1)
- 1x Overpower --> 1x Scavenging (0)
- 1x Perception --> 1x Plucky (3)
- 2x Ice Pick (1) --> 2x Ice Pick (3)
- 1x Charisma (3)
- 1x Unexpected Courage --> 1x Granny Orne (3)
- 1x Run For Your Life --> 1x Granny Orne (3)
- 1x Perception --> 1x Plucky (3)
Then some options
- 1x Observed (4)
Thanks for reading! I would love to hear thoughts and experiences.
Thanks @Drostt for recommending how to improve the deck.

Mar 20, 2024It's a cool deck, but what do you think about more card draw provided by At a Crossroads? I think with such an amount of actions (Leo De Luca) it would work great! |

Mar 21, 2024I think I would start with replacing two Unexpected Courage as this is skill with medium power and not drawing you new cards. Skils are cool, but having a lot of them force you to have a solid drawing options. But not sure now what to give up later on... Maybe one Run For Your Life (it doesn't draw you cards) and maybe, just maybe one Long Shot when you get better Ice Pick. |

Now I want to go into the blind run of the "Scarlet Keys" with this deck. I hope luck will be on my side this time. |

Sep 30, 2024Does this deck often have problems with being defeated? I don’t see much in the way of healing or soak, and in true solo that’s a very real threat. |

Oct 01, 2024I’m doing true solo lately, with either Roland or Zoey. They have different card mixes, but in various runs through Dunwich and Carcosa I have seen treacheries (moreso than enemies) deliver fatal levels of horror on the regular. In every true solo deck I’ve had to make room for a little more horror soak than I expect/plan/see online in decklists. I’m of two minds when it comes to Pete in true solo regarding soak. The simple path is just run Peter Sylvestre in place of more obscure allies. The other is to run a few allies for soak, then use Calling In Favors to efficiently pull back a damaged old ally, replace with a new ally, and possibly re-play the old one later. |

Oct 02, 2024I’m in the middle of revising the Roland one at the moment, it’s had the most actual scenarios tested on it but remains unsatisfactory. Here’s the latest version of Zoey, only tested on Carcosa (killed in Scenario 7) and partway through Return to Dunwich. It’s nowhere near as good as Pete but it’s surprisingly capable, Sixth Sense and Reliable are standouts: arkhamdb.com |

Great deck. With her help, I went through the return to the Dunwich Legacy and am now going through the return to the path to Carcosa. Thank you very much for updating the deck!
