This deck was built for a 3 player Night of the Zealot run on standard difficulty using 2core sets. Daisy was joined by Roland and Wendy.

The deck worked well, with Dr. Milan Christopher proving to be a real superstar-making investigate tests a breeze and generating lots of income so you can play your tomes, spells and events.

Old Book of Lore provides a significant boost to card draw (for you or your fellow investigators) and choosing the best of 3 cards drawn is amazing, letting you get a card that is of use (most of the time) and allowing you to get key cards out of your deck and into play. Note: it always makes me smile to see one of my weaknesses in the 3 cards drawn, knowing I get to shuffle it deeper into my deck (hopefully) or take it if it’s an opportune time.

The third star of this deck is Shrivelling. Once you’ve got set up with Dr. Milan Christopher, your Old Book of Lore, your Holy Rosary and a few cards in hand Daisy can confidently handle most creatures or contribute to team takedowns.

Mind over Matter was a card I was always happy to see because when you have it in hand it offers you a way to solve the problems you’re facing, whether you need to put a couple of wounds onto a monster or evade one.

SPOILERS AHEAD

“How did the campaign go?” I hear you cry. To sum it up... HOT GARBAGE! :)

The Ghoul Priest was our nemesis! In The Gathering everything was running smoothly and we were all set up to deal with the GP when Amnesia hit Roland and took his hand from 8 cards to 1 (we were playing with hidden weaknesses). Daisy stepped up and dished out the pain with Shrivelling. The encounter deck then spawned the Icy Ghoul and Flesh-Eater...so we decided to split up to grab all the vps and keep the ghouls from the hallway - Yes, we ignored the voices that told us not to - and then it all fell apart! Roland failed his last attack drawing a tentacle, dodged the retaliation but took damage from the GP’s normal attack before another tentacle on a Rotting Remains took him out of the game. Daisy got 2 tentacles from 3 Shrivelling checks and fell to the ghouls. Wendy was reduced to using her Baseball Bat, had no cards in hand and fell as well.

Midnight masks turned into the battle of Rivertown. With the group taking on all comers including The Masked Hunter, his cultists and the Hunting Nightgaunts. The GP turned up but Wendy got him shuffled back into the deck. As the Masked Hunter was about to fall the GP turned up again, Roland was hit with Amnesia and after an almighty struggle we had the hunter down and almost had the GP dead. However a double draw of Ancient Evils had the clock strike Midnight and during the whole debacle Lita Chantler was nowhere to be seen.

We got off to a really slow start in the final scenario, with failed tests seeing lots of damage and horror being dished out from the encounter deck and time being wasted healing ourselves out of danger. Then the GP turned up, we all converged on him (deciding that this would be our win condition, he was obviously the main bad dude) and duked it out on the Clifftops. While praying that Roland’s memory would hold out we put guns, magic and baseball bats to good use and finally ended the reign of the GP. Shortly after the battle Umôrdhoth was summoned...the three heroes looked at each other and without a word threw Lita Chantler to the vengeance of the Ancient One before strolling casually back towards Arkham.
