This deck is joining a Forgotten Age campaign that's halfway through. I was previously playing Leo Anderson and retired him after he hit 5 physical trauma (starting with 3 health on the group tank was not helpful...). The group includes Daisy Walker, Ursula Downs & Father Mateo (Yeah, I know that's 2 seekers and it's sub-optimal, but eh...) and we're about to play Heart of the Elders (for the first time too).
As Finn is replacing Leo, the aim of this deck is more & focused. I know that's a waste of his 4 , but I see it as more of a bonus that can help him get the occasional clue. Likewise with 2 seekers in the group, I dropped cards like Flashlight cos Daisy and Ursula should have most of that covered.
Peter Sylvestre and Trench Coat are there to make the most of his awesome , and Sneak Attack & Backstab are to help do some damage, with the .41 Derringer hopefully helping (and adding another Illicit card to be triggered by Smuggled Goods).
Thermos may seem a bit random, but everyone has taken a bunch of trauma and it seems like it'll be helpful to have a bit of a heal available, even if it's a tad expensive...
Not sure if I've gone a bit too broad on focus here...

Nov 27, 2018I completely forgot about Logical Reasoning... Not sure if I want to drop any of the Survivor cards for it though... Hopefully one of the two Seekers has it. Otherwise Thermos should hopefully provide an expensive and action inefficient alternative :P My main concern with Trench Coat is the cost, but I should get plenty of use out of it provided I can afford to bring it out. It's for a similar reason I haven't included Leo De Luca, as he's just another expensive card (albeit a great one) in a deck of expensive cards... |
I am wondering about the lack of Logical Reasoning. While I haven't played TFA myself past the second scenario, I'm sure there will be Terror cards to discard or horror to be healed. Otherwise, the deck looks sweet.
I've personally found Trench Coat a bit underwhelming, so it's a card I would suggest swapping out as soon as you get some XP, but it's fine in a 0 XP deck.
