I like this card a lot. The 10xp is totally worth it. You can have only one investigation spell in your entire deck, for example Sixth Sense and have 100% consistancy with it. This creates a lot more flexibility in the rest of your deck and gives room for many different ideas. More cards like this, please.

Regarding the line "Your deck cannot include more than 1 copy of your branded spell." I have two questions.

A.) Does this mean that when I buy this if I brand Sixth Sense (4) I have to also pay to replace any other copies of Sixth Sense as well. Or do we get to replace that card with a level 0 card of choice?

B.) Does the Eldrotch Brand stop same card by title. If I branded Shrivelling (3) for instance could I also have Shrivelling (5) in my deck?

The spell name is just the title of the card, not the level. Like you can not have two copies of Shrivelling (3) and two copies of Shrivelling (5) in your deck, only two copies accross all levels. (Unless wonky parallel deckbuilding rules allows you otherwise, but that was so far only for events.) If you upgraded two "Sixth Sense" first to level 4 (why? just don't), you will loose one of them. If you had one level 4 and one level 0, or two level 0 before, you can replace the level 0 with any other level 0 card for free, like in any other case, when you are forced to alter yor deck based on new deckbuilding rules. — Susumu · 385 4/3/25

Regarding "record in your campaign log"... Does it mean you can't use it in standalones? Not sure if standalones have a campagin log too, but other cards specify "campaign only" and Eldritch Brand does not. — Laerthes · 1 5/23/25

You can use it in standalones, the Campaign Log is always available and standalones will also sometimes say to record things in the log. And as you noted it will say "Campaign Mode Only" if they don't want it used in standalones. — HanoverFist · 774 11/7/25

Does anyone know what would happen if I choose a spell such as Armageddon as my branded spell, and end up playing on a scenario that makes me start the game with fewer than 5 resources? per either the Indebted weakness as certain scenarios and campaigns can have you add a random basic weakness to your deck midway through campaigns

Example being, I am starting a custom scenario with 2 fewer resources per the setup instructions in this campaign,

What would happen with my branded spell Eldritch Brand since I no longer have the 4 required resources to pay for the branded spell before drawing my opening hand,

Would the spell stay in my deck and I just have to hope I end up drawing into it because I cannot meet the payment requirements?

My best guess is that if you initiate the ability you search for the branded spell but can't play it. It's the "Once initiated, players must resolve as much of each aspect of the effect as they are able" business under "effects" in the rules. But triggered abilities are optional , so I guess not triggering eldritch brand and leaving the spell in your deck is always an option as well — bee123 · 31 8/2/25

If you have such option, add Astounding revalation to your deck- you search your entire deck, so you immediality proc it and gain 2 resources :) — Pawiu14 · 222 8/4/25

Does it actually work? It's the same wording as Stick to the plan, which doesn't work with the revelation. I remember something like you couldn't search your deck before the game atarts — Tharzax · 1 8/4/25

As already told Astounding revelation doesn't work: FAQ (1.26) Searching During Setup If an investigator is instructed to search a deck for 1 or more cards during setup, abilities that trigger when a deck is searched (such as Mandy Thompson’s [reaction] ability or abilities on Research cards) cannot be resolved, as the game has not yet begun. — vidinufi · 69 11/24/25
