Robinson Crusoe

This is the second deck I'm planning to play concurrently with my Skids deck for the TFA campaign play along on the Mythos Busters discord. Again, I'm going to do the Return to TFA and I'm going to be playing true solo but this time it'll be a mystic! I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Deckbuilding restrictions restrict me to Core set, the TFA cycle, the starter investigators and the respective Return To boxes which makes for some very difficult deckbuilding.

I'm going to be leveraging Luke's gatebox as much as possible to avoid enemies while boosting his intellect for clue gathering and saving events such as Drawn to the Flame and working a hunch for the high shroud locations. Cards like Clairvoyance seem really inefficient in solo, there aren't enough 2 clue locations to really justify the tempo hit. Seeking Answers on the other hand seems insane when comboed with the gate box to pick up clues off any revealed locations on the table so that's going to be one of the first upgrades. You can use cards like Burning the Midnight Oil, Vantage Point, Working a Hunch and Drawn to the Flame in a similar way with gatebox to snipe clues from the safety of the gatebox so I can happily just keep exploring and leaving clues behind if I have to. I've always wanted to try a Luke Barricade deck but it doesn't work when playing 3 or 4 player which is my usual group game size so this is a good chance to bust it out. If it doesn't work that well I'll keep one of the skill cards and replace it with an upgrade instead.

Total: 36xp

Other options I'm considering include Perception, "I've got a plan!" and Counterspell but they all seem a bit situational. Perception definitely goes in if I end up replacing Barricadebecause it isn't pulling it's weight.
