Introduction
disclaimer - Rapshade has informed me, my gimmick doesn't work. I will be back with a bigger and better deck next time.

Ever since I was a small boy, people would say, "Damn, you really take the fun out of things." I took it as a compliment, and now I strive to ruin as many people's days as possible. With this deck, you too can destroy the days of those who care for you the most.

Main Strategy:

Main Loop:
  • Written in the Stars is an insane card that can recur a skill card infinitely as long as you're taking tests. Now, imagine if every test you took gave you an extra action, allowing you to take another test. That's where Resourceful and At a Crossroads come in. You use Written in the Stars on Resourceful, picking At a Crossroads, and you essentially have infinite investigative actions. (As long as they are successful.)

    • If you want to gain even more value from these actions, you can use Written in the Stars on another card, like Perception, to help cycle through your deck. If you also have Shortcut in your deck, this could allow you to move your investigator infinitely as well.
  • The only real way to set up your Written in the Stars is your Scroll of Secrets. You could thin your deck through search cards to get the card you want in your Scroll of Secrets more consistently. (If aiming for "Infinite" scenario 1 this is advised.)
  • You have sparse healing spread through this deck, solely to help you on tests in earlier scenarios. (Though Vincent's ability.) Later you'll gain access to passive healing, so you can replace these cards.

Scroll of Secrets & Ariadne's Twine:
  • I've included both Scroll of Secrets and Ariadne's Twine in this section because they are two sides to the same coin. Scroll of Secrets enables this deck, and Ariadne's Twine enables Scroll of Secrets.

  • Scroll of Secrets is a monster of a card that removes almost all worry of you drawing core cards. Add to that the fact that you can hold two, and you'll search through your deck in no time. You can even add Research Librarian to tutor it out for higher consistency.

  • Because you are using Scroll of Secrets every turn, putting at least two cards on top of your deck and discarding any negative cards, it becomes almost impossible to draw a weakness once you're set up.

Every skill card run in this deck is a target for Written in the Stars. Most other cards are just added for card draw.

Using the ideas written here, I hope I’ve made everyone’s day a little bit worse. Jokes aside, I think this is an interesting concept—too bad everyone will hate you for playing it though.

Similar to you, I have a knack of taking the fun out of things for others, and particularly in board games as I am often a rules lawyer (funnily enough I am actually a lawyer in my professional life).

Unfortunately for you, and maybe fortunately for the fun of others, your infinite combo does not work. This is for the simple reason of the first line of text on At A Crossroads which reads “Max 2 Dilemma per round.” That maximum applies to all Dilemmas played by all investigators during the round and after 2 Dilemmas have gone off any further draws of a Dilemma become a dead draw which means at most you can only get two additional actions a round out of your combo.

Hopefully now that I have dashed your hopes on your so-called fun destroying “infinite combo” you can return to the drawing board and find a real infinite combo to destroy the fun of others. I suggest in your future searches for such an infinite combo that you exclude from your experiments and considerations any card that contains a “Max X per turn/round/phase” clause as they have been specifically designed to prevent any such unfun/broken shenanigans.

I had At a Crossroads in my last Kate deck, initially only to setup (Versatile'd) Geared Up, but realized after some time extra actions were totally worth a card.

draw so much (and Kate can "Fool me once..." her weaknesses and cycle freely) that i hit the "max 2 per round" ceeiling, but it felt good to have more than 3 actions in seeker (as if they needed it xD).
