This was my first full length campaign character I played. I wanted to try the stabby Zoey deck that was popular but I wanted to run it with the larger card pool available now so I've modified it a bit to my liking. This character was specifically the heavy damage dealer for our group which had a jack of all trades Jenny Barnes and an experimental clue gathering Lola Hayes. Our composition worked out quite well in most situations though this deck and Zoey herself is not great at clue gethering which is why we have a few Evidence! in the mix to slightly help out while you perform your primary function.

Some of the big changes I've made, I pulled out Kukri instead for Enchanted Blade which I feel is a much better interim weapon while you set up for your Machete. I also took out Knife which takes away from the theme slightly but I never felt like I was in desparate need for a melee weapon especially with the mulligan rules. On the Hunt is a newer card and allows you to manipulate a mythos phase so that you can engage an enemy, get your free resource, and ping the enemy for a damage if you have your cross out on the board, there's a lot of synergy here for Zoey.

We are running Bandolier to eventually upgrade, to Bandolier which will provide a bonus mental point when you've got at least 2 hand slots filled. The upgraded Bandolier gives you a few options options for weapons if you really want to pull out the Lightning Gun towards the end you have the option to without compromising your machete. Further into the campaign I upgraded Enchanted Blade to Enchanted Blade. My favorite addition to the deck was the Timeworn Brand which is just an all around fantastic weapon.

Charisma is a must have, being able to run 2 Beat Cop or 1 Beat Cop with Leo De Luca are both quite useful for Zoey and really boost her combat abilities. Having Leo De Luca out when you pull Shortcut will really stretch your turn options out and allow you to slaughter whatever comes your way.

My recommended upgrade path: Charisma>Beat Copx2>Vicious Blowx2>Timeworn Brand (you can take out a machete for this as it's a straight upgrade)>Enchanted Blade>Emergency Cache>Dynamite Blast

The last 3 upgrades are really just small quality of life boosts, you can also upgrade First Aid along the way but I didn't find many times I was actually using first aid over just rapidly killing things.

There's still room for other improvements to this deck but I found this setup to be quite fun and efficient for killing targets and keeping allies alive.

Note, since we are not using the taboo lists as of yet in our games I haven't taken into account the XP costs of machete. If I do run this deck again with the taboo list, I would sub Machete for Kukri and just replace the Kukri for the Machete asap, if you manage to get a steady XP flow I'd just upgrade one of the Kukri straight to a Timeworn Brand.
