This is a Zoey monster killer deck. She has a fair amount of support built-in to absorb health and sanity hits, plus First Aid and Smoking Pipe to heal up. I like Venturer here to replenish .45 ammo or supplies on First Aid or Smoking Pipe if need be. Emergency Aid helps to keep Venturer in play, or can offer some help to bail out an ally.

I'm very light on clue gathering, although there are a few things thrown in for that (Evidence and Rite of Seeking). I don't have much in the way of agility test cards beyond Manual Dexterity, but I'm not really trying to do much evasion with her. This is a slightly one-dimensional Zoey tanking/medic support build, so I'm relying on my team to handle the investigating.

I'd be interested to hear suggestions, especially considering moving out either events or a weapon or two in favor of a more offensive mystic choice.

Zoey has a lot of combat options, so I'm not sure why you'd need more "offensive mystic choice"s. Only offensive lv0 spells at this time are Shrivelling and Storm of Spirits, which do not grant a bonus on attacks. So you'd need to fill your deck with and to do both.

Instead i'd recommend you to stick to guardian weapons: 2x Machete and either 2x any gun or 2x Prepared for the Worst guarantees a weapon in your starting hand.

  • Manual Dexterity -> Overpower Not sure why you'd include this card. With such a low you're likely to fail speed tests, even with this card. So you should never include it.
  • 2x Venturer -> 2x Beat Cop: With only 1 gun you're very unlikely to make good use of this guy, unless you add Lightning Gun and/or Shotgun with XP. The cop's +1 will be very helpful, however.

What else you do depends on your team. In a 4 player team you'd be the main fighter, so don't need any investigate stuff. I'd replace the following cards:

Alternatively if you're in a 2 player group and the other player isn't a dedicated cluer, rely on events that take clues:

Very, very late response, but thank you, Django, for the suggestions. I love all of your decks and your explanations of both how and why cards work/don't work. I've obviously retooled this deck quite a bit over the past few releases, so it looks very different now, but I incorporated almost all of your suggestions in 2018/2019. Thank you again for all the you do for this community!

No problem. I just can't find the time to make decks public anymore, writing those reviews was time consuming.

On topic, a friend of mine is currently playing a zoey deck with underwold support (so 21 cards after stick to the plan). Last game was pretty crazy, entering arkham asylum (return to unspeakable oath) with a straight jacket (her mythos 1 card), mk1 grenades, kerosene, bandages and riot whistle. Who's the crazy person now...?

Later she found e.cache 3 for more grenades and saved my Amanda with Fang of Tyr'thrha after i drew nacrolepsy. It was a close call but we got out.

Fantastic ending to a creepy scenario! I absolutely understand the time commitment. I posted a Patrice build yesterday with the kind of analysis that I think you would do. As for Zoey, yes, I am definitely still trying to refine Zoey especially with the newer cards released over the past year. It sounds like your friend has a really wild deck that kind of accomplishes the kind of thing that I'm going for with her.
