This is a cluever deck built around Astronomical Atlas and Archaic Glyphs. The main strategy is quite straightforward:
- draw more and more cards (by Astronomical Atlas, Grisly Totem and others) and cycle your deck more than twice.
- pour commit cards into the skill tests of Archaic Glyphs and other critical skill tests.
Why choose Parallel Daisy? After experiencing a long journey through Dunwich, Carcosa, Aztecs, TCU, Dreamland and Innsmouth, Daisy is no longer a naive girl devoting all times into the library. While she no longer be active with her free , she becomes resistant against mythos with her 7 and 13 sanity, making her unbeatable through horror; she utilizes more confound Mystic Tomes into practical and becomes the only investigator that can combine Astronomical Atlas and Archaic Glyphs. But if you really miss the young core set Daisy, this deck: Daisy, You Make Me Crazy (Tomes, Secrets & Dooms) is for you.
Why I recommend this deck?
- Astronomical Atlas focused: Atlas is a powerful card and it brings more fun to play, especially with powerful commit cards. It can even break the rule of only committing one card to others (cards committed from Atlas do not count toward this limit). However, Mystics don't like it: it requires 3 exp; it is difficult to find in the early game without other card-draws; there are not so many powerful Mystic commit cards. However, Seekers would love it because they have so many good commit cards like Deduction and Eureka!. For Daisy, she also has Promise of Power and Enraptured. By now, Astronomical Atlas is still regarded as a signature card of Norman Withers. This deck will show you how Atlas can be abused by Daisy.
- Strength guarenteed: I use this deck to achieve the good ending of The Dream Eaters in Hard level in a 3-player team as a cluever. Teammates are parallel Zoey Samaras and Jacqueline Fine.
- Easy to play: meanwhile, its strategy is quite straightforward and there is no complicated back and forth. So it is extremely suitable for beginners to experience Hard+ difficulty.
Highlight moments:
- Draw 5 cards per turn by 2xAstronomical Atlas, Grisly Totem and Dream Diary (generating Essence of the Dream) (1 during Upkeep phrase), while commit cards drawn by Atlas can be used twice.
- Collect all 3 clues in a 12-shroud location in a single action using Archaic Glyphs. In this skill test, I committed Promise of Power, Grisly Totem and then commit Helping Hand and Inquiring Mind and I finally got 20 in this test.
Mulligan: Keep Dr. Milan Christopher, Astronomical Atlas and all other cards related to the card draw.
Get these assets ready:
- Hand: 2xAstronomical Atlas, Dream Diary, and reserved for The Necronomicon.
- Arcane: Archaic Glyphs, Shrivelling.
- Accessory: Grisly Totem
- Ally: Dr. Milan Christopher.
- Others: Daisy's Tote Bag, 2xSchoffner's Catalogue.
Then you have 6 Tomes in play. Note that Schoffner's Catalogue is also a Tome, and you should keep the last secret to keep it in play. It gives you 7 and 13 sanity, which means you can never be defeated by horror even without any healing.
You will have 5 cards to commit per turn, either for yourself or your friend at your location. If both Astronomical Atlas catch commit cards, you would have 7 cards to commit EVERY TURN.
Play Shrivelling after your Tomes are ready. It gives you the ability to investigate alone away from your guard. It can also contributes to the boss fight. Meanwhile and what's more important, it actively drops your empty Archaic Glyphs so it can be cycled after reshuffling.
To support your teammates, note that cards committed from Astronomical Atlas does not count toward the one-card-to-commit rule, which means you can commit Promise of Power from Atlas and then commit Helping Hand from your hand. After the skill test ends, you can take Promise of Power back into hand.
Unlike my core set Daisy deck, this deck does not cycle Tomes, and does not have extra actions to resolve The Necronomicon (even though you resolve it once, you will see it again after the deck is reshuffled). So I would not upgrade The Necronomicon and Daisy's Tote Bag, and use the basic version till the end of the campaign.
Join the Caravan can be replaced by Pathfinder and Shortcut. However, I prefer Join the Caravan because it has icon so it is less likely to be locked in Astronomical Atlas.
Helping Hand can be replaced by Daring for more consistent card draw and also helps you to evade enemies. But Daring provides little support to investigation through Archaic Glyphs.
As this deck only requires 23 experience and is likely to be fully functional at the half way in your campaign, there are some choices for further upgrades:
- The Key of Solomon + Gabriel Carillo + Occult Reliquary to turn this deck into 6-draw-per-turn Daisy. This combo is quite good if your team is themed (to get healing) or has someone who adds without purifying.
- True Magick + The Raven Quill(Spectral Binding+Mystic Vane+Interwoven Ink). So you would let Astronomical Atlas draw 3 cards per turn, always +2 on Archaic Glyphs, and have an extra hand slot for Tomes.
- Blackmail File: it makes fun for Daisy to threat enemies through Tome. It is a slot-free Tome, and also reduces the cost of Join the Caravan.
- See the 0xp version here.
- This deck is expected to be fully functional at the end of Scenario 4.
